Thank you all for an amazing 2016! On a personal level, it was a rough year. I was ready for it to be over as soon as it began. It started out with my daughter being hospitalized with RSV, and ended with a stomach bug. And so other not so great things in between that I won’t bore you with. Luckily we are all healthy now and I have a great outlook for 2017. It wasn’t all bad though, with my sister getting married and my husband and I taking a kid less anniversary trip. But, let me tell you, I am more than ready for 2017!
On a business level, this was a great year. I always enjoy getting to know all the families I meet along the way. This was my first full year having my studio and I couldn’t be happier. I updated my website (and have plans to tweak it some more). I have been getting samples of new products and want to offer some of the best unique professional products the market has to offer. For those that have been to the studio lately, you know I have searched high and low for an album that wows me (and you) and I finally found it! I am really excited to photograph the new products so you can get a preview. However, nothing beats seeing them in person!
2016 Accomplishments
So many goals were accomplished in 2016. My goal is to always grow and learn from the previous year. Learning and being educated by the best in the field was top on my list. In October I went to the Baby Summit USA which is the first (and possibly) only time in the US. It was an amazing experience and I took so much away from it. No matter what your field is, I really recommend that you find an uplifting conference this year. Where you are with you peers and to be inspired. I actually took away more on a personal level than I did on a business level. I roomed with 3 other newborn photographers in Connecticut. It’s a different dynamic being a small business owner and not having co-workers. While technically we are competition, we are also friends. We lift each other up and help each other in our businesses. That is HUGE is an industry that has no “rules and regulations” and is over saturated.
But enough business talk. Thank YOU for an amazing year! I am so excited to share 2017 with you as well!
2017 Goals!
I have so many goals for 2017 (business & personal) and am so excited to share and experience them with you.
- remodel the studio bathroom (good-bye 1960! Hello 2017! ….. this was a 2016 goal, but hey can’t win them all)
- get rid of plastic in the kitchen (this is a HUGE task… if you have recommendations, please comment!)
- organize my new office & craft room ….. IKEA trip will be happening
