I had so much fun at Suhavi’s cake smash. Suhavi came from Simsbury to my Newtown, CT studio. Suhavi already has a head full of hair. When she first arrived, I brought out some toys for her to play with and warm up. Mom and I started working on her hair. My cake smash photography sessions have two different set ups. The first one is more of a first birthday set up. Usually a neutral background and just some fun images of the birthday girl. I have so many fun props to choose from. We went with a purple pettiskirt and a matching headband.
The cake was from Who Wants Cake in Brookfield. Cheryl makes all of my cakes for my cake smash photography sessions. I tell her the colors, send her photos of the outfit and set up. She then creates an amazing cake that fits perfectly with the set up.
This cake smash was one of my favorite set ups. Mom gave me full control. She wanted bright and colorful and colors that went with her daughter’s skin tone. I decided on lavender, aqua, and a touch of yellow. I only had a few days to pull this together. Yay for fast shipping. I made the tutu and flowers in the background. I already had the headband and worked with a great vendor on etsy that got the necklace out to me right in time. Put it all together for a super fun and color cake smash session.
