I was so excited to see Gabriella at my studio again! I have been photographing her since she was in her mama’s belly. This time I saw her for her first birthday cake smash session. First birthdays have two parts. The first part is some first birthday portraits. The second part is the fun and messy cake smash!

So, not every cake smash session is full of fun and laughter. Honestly, a lot of them have quite a few tears. There are typically 3 ways a cake smash session goes.
- Birthday girl will eat the cake, but not make a mess.
- The little one will make a mess, but not eat the cake
- One year old will not want anything to do with the cake
Seems like option 3 is where most kids end up! However, that being said, it always works out for some great images!

Don’t worry. It wasn’t all tears for Gabriella! She loved playing with all the directions. The pom poms and flowers were some of her favorites.
Album
Mom had been dreaming of one of my sample albums since it came in. I don’t blame her, because it is gorgeous! I loved being able to custom design this album for her. It included images from her Gabriella’s newborn session, holiday session, and lastly the first birthday cake smash session. I hope to have some product pages up soon, but had to share this one here! It’s my favorite album as it comes in a display box. No need to hide your album on a shelf!
The pages lay flat and the box and binding come in some many color choices.
